Ball and Jennings extending baseball career into college together
Talon Jennings of Tell City and Ethan Ball of Perry Central are going into their final year of high school. But they will not be in different schools for a long time, or so they expect it is, come to think of the eventuality. In the next year after the school year is over the two of them will be playing college baseball for Brescia University.
Both Ball and Jennings began their baseball career as teammates for River City Hurricanes at the age of eight. When they joined Hurricanes, the next team they joined was joined was the Southern Indiana Spikes. However, they opted to part ways for one year, before they joined Rockport Post 254 to play at the legion ball. As they have followed the game of baseball the two of them have always sought to advance to college level play. Actually, they discussed to each other what college baseball may be like but the idea of playing in the same team never crossed their minds.
“Talon (Jennings) and I had lots of conversations regarding playing college baseball, and these conversations, of course, began when we were still kids,” Ball said. “It was always something we both wanted and up until recently the conversations were just that and the talk of us both playing at brescia became a reality I am proud to be able to continue playing with Talon in the next level after so many years in playing for the Hurricanes Spikes and this summer playing for Rockport Legion.
Jennings had the same feeling about the possibility to play together in college with the two of them.
“Ethan and I have been talking for years about teaming up on the basketball court,” Jennings added. Neither I think we ever expected that one day it would happen, but at least it is nice to discuss about it. Well, it’s quite fascinating that such conversations are going to be realised in the nearest future. I also look forward to sharing a room with you our our first year of college. ”
One may conclude that their friendship, as both described it, enters on basis of support. The characters in the film even at work are teammates, in the warm up and also in their vacations. From what they as children have said during the show, they know that would part ways come High School but still they how to communicate well. The get right back to where they are in the conversation they left.
“We are both left-handed, and know each other as pitchers more than any other people,” Ball said. “On the field, he was always supporting I and ready to help me to become the best version of myself.
On the personal level, we stayed friends even when we did not have much time to see each other for years after the last time.
Brescia was a chance to enroll into a college that was near Perry County, and the two of them were particularly captivated with the conduct of the coaches Andy Baker and Casey Hamilton.
“It has a small population and it is in Brea which is near my home and I think it would be a good college for me to get a good education and play baseball,” Jennings said. “Coach Hamilton and coach Baker have a lot in store for this baseball program and pitching is one of them I also find it convenient because it is near Tell City and my family can attend the games. ”
Ball said that he had wanted his future university to be Brescia as it provided all he needed academically and in his sport. Also, similar to Jennings, he appreciates that it is associated with a university which is in proximity to Perry County.
Presently. they retain a combination of the team targets other than personal targets unlike the conventional theories.
Ball wants the chance at a Core 40 diploma, he wants to be a football player for his coaches can’t remove him from the field and more so, for no broken bones, as he aims to bring Perry Central another sectional championship. Jennings wants to get better at pitching, be selected to the Pocket Athletic All-Conference Team and perform well academically this year. Like Ball but for other schools, he is also in pursuit of the opportunity of having the tell city anticipate a positive season and a sectional championship.
